I’ve always been fascinated and drawn to complex systems that amplify the best of human behavior while mitigating the negative effects of human inconsistencies. A passion for electronics led me to over 20 years building high-performance computers. That led to regular IT consulting for small businesses. When my wife’s career in sales took off, I started helping her troubleshoot the systems she was tasked with managing.
When Ashleigh launched her consulting business in 2020, I witnessed firsthand the struggles for small and large revenue teams alike. So many struggle to realize the benefits of expensive tools because they can't deploy or manage them properly. In 2022, she hired me to assist her clients as an augmentation of her services. In less than nine months, my workload was high enough it became essential I launch Early Rev Ops to devote my full attention to my clients' growing needs.
The fact is sales leadership should be focused on helping their team have as many human engagements as possible - not deploying or troubleshooting the systems that help them do that. Additionally, many revenue operation professionals come from IT or engineering. So while they can build brilliant systems it can be a challenge to ensure those systems meet the needs of your sales team.
Outside of IT, I've refereed over 1500 ice hockey games in 5 states and now two countries. I've been in high-stakes situations with even higher emotions. As a result, I've developed a talent for diffusing tense situations and finding solutions that move the conversation forward. It's also left me without fear of telling someone bad news when necessary.
